Teaching Interests

Dr. Geniole's teaching interests include social psychology and group dynamics with an emphasis on social perceptions and behaviours related to threat and competition (e.g., aggression, dominance).

Dr. Geniole's additional teaching interests include introduction to psychology, research methods, statistics, hormones and behaviour, and environmental and health psychology.

Research Interests

Dr. Geniole investigates (1) how challenges to social status influence social behavior, social decision-making, and performance through potential hormonal mechanisms; (2) how social perceptions (e.g., of aggression, attractiveness) form and affect (economic) decision-making, and; (3) how exposure to nature influences health and well-being.

More recently, Dr. Geniole has begun investigating factors that promote or undermine health-protective behaviours relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic.
