  • This program is patterned after the apprenticeship model (Level 3) and students are eligible to receive employment insurance.
  • Small class sizes: student/instructor ratio is 14:1

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Build on the knowledge you gained in the Welding Foundation certificate and get one step closer to earning your Red Seal ticket.

Welding Level B sample topics include:

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding #2 (SMAW #2)
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding #2 (GMAW #2)
  • Flux Cored Arc Welding #2 (FCAW #2)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding #1 (GTAW #1)
  • Welding Quality Control and Inspection Standards
  • Welding Codes, Standards, and Specifications
  • Blueprint Reading #2

In addition to these topics, you will be required to practice layout and fabrication by completing a series of exercises and projects.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Successful completion of Welding Foundations and Level exam

2.  +1000 hours of work-based training required in your log book prior to Welding B Technical Training. Skilled Trades BC recommends +3000 hours of work-based training prior to Welding B training and Red Seal exam. 

3. Submission of your Welding Log book with work based hours reported by your sponsor
