Hello, my name is Shriram Gaikwad, and I serve as the Academic Advisor for Qualifying Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley. In this role, I support students who are beginning their academic journey through Qualifying Studies by helping them explore program options, identify their goals, and develop effective strategies to gain entry into their preferred programs.
I hold a Bachelor of Science with Honours in International Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Sunderland (London, United Kingdom), as well as a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Hospitality Management from the University of Mewar (Rajasthan, India). I have also completed a certification in Adult Education with a focus on Academic Advising and Career Development from University of Calgary (Calgary, Canada).
With over seven years of combined experience in the education and hospitality sectors, my focus is to guide and support every student in navigating their unique path at UFV.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, swimming, reading, and experimenting with cooking—most of my recipes turn out to be quite palatable! I am also passionate about sports, particularly cricket and football, and you will often find me cheering for my favourite teams when there is a match on.
