What you need to do

For access to Department mail, please contact us at either of the numbers or e-mail addresses below:

Departments need to provide ITS with updates to their department’s information (new employees, changes to employee status, applicable offices & locals) so the UFV Online Directory is kept current – this is used to sort mail accurately for individuals in each department.

You may continue to place outgoing inter-department and external mail in the designated drawers in B383 for pickup every morning.

General procedures

Sorting and processing mail is centralized and performed at B110 on the Abbotsford campus.

A morning mail run continues in effort to maintain inter campus mail services and to make sure outgoing mail is gathered for processing.

Internal mail

  • The sender is responsible for providing the recipient’s first and last name, department, and campus.

Preparing outgoing mail

  • Pre-seal large or bulky envelopes that cannot be processed through an automated mailing system.
  • Separate domestic mail from International or US mail.
  • Regular envelopes can be sealed during the processing phase.
  • Parcels should be accompanied with a shipping request which is available online or through the Logistics personnel.
  • Departments need to supply a budget code for outgoing Canada Post or Courier Shipping and mail services. An area for this use is provided on the shipping request.

Note: All incoming mail needs to be identified by a name or department or it will be opened to determine end destination.
