Meet UFV Arts

Laura Schneider serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives in the School of Creative Arts at the University of the Fraser Valley and is an established cultural executive with extensive experience in museum management and community engagement across Canada. A cultural resource manager, curator, and administrator, her work has supported galleries, libraries, archives, and museums from coast to coast. Deeply committed to civic society and progressive leadership, she believes in the power of the cultural sector to bring people together and strengthen social understanding. With a career-long commitment to working closely with Indigenous communities and to advancing self-determination, Laura values collaborative working methods and strong interpersonal relationships. She holds degrees and accreditations from Queen’s University, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business, and the University of Victoria.
