Future Students

Campus life

Your university experience is so much more than just classrooms and computer screens. As a UFV student, you’ll join a tight-knit campus community, with endless opportunities to socialize, lead, and learn life skills.

Join a club

Like to play table tennis, game, study philosophy, or fight for human rights? We have 65-plus clubs and associations on campus, focusing on everything from fitness and hobbies to culture, study areas, professions, social support, and more. If you don’t see the one you’re looking for, you can create your own through the Student Union Society.

Get out and have fun

Our event calendar is jam-packed with cultural happenings, recreation opportunities and more. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Participate in a cultural celebration: Check out our arts and cultural activity calendar for upcoming events, such as our vibrant take on Holi, the Indian Festival of Colours.

  • Cheer on the Cascades: Grab some green face paint and get ready to yell: our fearless Cascades compete in 14 sports, from basketball and soccer to rugby and wrestling.

  • Take in a show: Concerts, improv comedy, Shakespeare, and more. Our campus stages are bursting with all kinds of creative arts and musical performances.

  • Take a dance or fitness class: Yoga, Zumba Dance Fit, Belly Dance – the list goes on. If you want to move your body, we have you covered.

  • Join a drop-in game: Don’t have time for organized sports? You can play basketball, badminton, indoor soccer, and more during open hours at the Student Activity Gym.

Live on campus

Want to really immerse yourself in campus life? Live in residence. Located in the heart of our Abbotsford campus, Baker House has 204 fully furnished, private bedrooms, along with communal kitchens and spaces to socialize. Here, you’ll find a strong community of mainly first-year students living, working, and studying together.

Volunteer your time

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back, meet other students and get work experience. There are plenty of opportunities for you to volunteer on UFV campuses, like:

  • Serving on a UFV board or committee.

  • Supporting new students by becoming a Student Ambassador, or mentor through the UFV Lead program.

  • Volunteering in the community.

Build up your Co-Curricular Record

At UFV, we keep track of more than just your grades. Your Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is an official record of your leadership and volunteer activities outside class.

The CCR is a great document to show prospective employers, alongside your resume.
