When to apply for each UFV academic semester

UFV's academic year is divided into three semesters.

Fall semester (Sept-Dec): Applications open October 1
Winter semester (Jan-Apr): Applications open May 1
Summer semester (May-Aug): Applications open October 1

Apply early

Some programs accept new students at specific times of the year (e.g. Fall only). Others accept new students in all semesters. Check when your program accepts applications.

Many of our popular programs will fill up, so it's best to apply early. If there is space in a program, we can still accept applications after the application deadline. But if there is no space, we may defer your application until the next semester or intake.

October 1: Applications open
Jan 1: Entrance scholarship applications open
Jan 15: Student housing applications open

Jan 31: Application deadline for competitive entry programs

March 10: Entrance scholarship application deadline

May: Fall timetable available

June: Fall registration opens
