Each November, Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast celebrate the importance of accessing meaningful work and all those that help us in connecting with our preferred futures. Canada Career Month volunteers work to advance the agenda of improving access to career services and education so that all Canadians are better prepared to develop their careers and transition into the emergent labour market.
What to do with your Arts degree

Unlock the potential of your Arts degree at UFV’s “What to Do with Your Arts Degree”! Join us for a dynamic 90-minute session where accomplished UFV Arts alumni from diverse fields will share their unique career journeys, insider tips on navigating the job market, and practical advice to help you maximize your education’s value.
This expanded panel offers a rare opportunity to connect directly with successful graduates, discover the many pathways an arts education can open, and get inspired for your future career.

Community Ideation Jam
Nov 10 & 12, 2025 | Fall Reading Break | 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Only open to UFV students currently enrolled in any program
After a successful pilot in November 2024, the 2nd annual Community Ideation Jam returns for November 2025! This collaborative and inclusive environment aims to generate innovative ideas and actionable plans with a diverse group of participants.
Registration opens October 13th and closes October 27th. Students can form teams of up to a maximum of four. Students registering must ensure they are fully committed to participate from November 10th through to November 12th. Accepted student participants will be notified via their student email on the last week of October.
More details will be revealed on the day of the event to build anticipation and excitement!

CityStudio Abbotsford Fall 2025

Check out poster presentations by UFV students at the Abbotsford City Hall in partnership with City of Abbotsford! Get inspired with how you can play an important role in your local community. This event will take place during the one-day Involve Symposium 2025 - Sustainability Edition.
Involve Abbotsford Symposium is a free one-day event that supports and fosters the robust and innovative arts, non-profit sector, and local sports organizations by providing relevant information and training to help build on the foundation of service that benefits the quality of life for all residents of Abbotsford. Prepare to be informed, inspired and invigorated.
CityStudio is a partnership program between the City of Abbotsford and the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and challenges university students to tackle civic issues and provide prototype solutions.
Host a career month event!
Are you planning a Career Month event for UFV students and alumni? For UFV student Clubs and Associations, Faculty or Staff:
- Plan your event to take place either online or in-person (following current UFV and provincial health guidelines). See Event Resources for venues and suppliers
- For in-person events, submit your Event Safety Plan at least two weeks in advance of the event
- Set up your virtual space (on a platform like Zoom, social media, etc.), or book your in-person space
- Complete the UFV Student Organization Event Application form (Clubs and Associations only)
- Submit your event to UFV Now to be included in UFV Now and UFV Events Calendar. Include Career Month in the event name and select Centre for Experiential and Career Education as a category tag (and any other related categories) for UFV’s website calendar feed. Faculty, staff, and administrative units can also submit student-related event announcements to the VP, Students newsletter.
- Use your own channels to promote your event to students and alumni. See Canada Career Month Logos and Templates. Tag CECE (@UFVjobs) in your social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If your event is open to the public, you can showcase your event on Canada Career Month.
