Project description
This project was initiated by the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) in an effort to continue their work towards building more trustful relations with Indigenous communities and individuals. Upon the APD’s request, PARC investigated historical and contemporary relationships between various police agencies that conduct(ed) law enforcement activities within Sto:lo territory and the Indigenous peoples living there. Through this research PARC was able to provide a report with historically informed recommendations for reconciliation.
Student involvement
PARC students supported this project through archival and contemporary research, the analysis of statistics, drafting reports, and the creation of informational graphics.
