Project description
In partnership with the Stó:lō Research and Resource Management Centre, PARC students reviewed, transcribed, and indexed Indian Agent letterbooks. Indian Agents were the Canadian Government’s representatives on First Nation reserves from the 1830s to the 1960s. Consequently, their correspondence provides a great deal of information about Indigenous/settler relations during that period.
Student involvement
PARC students reviewed, transcribed, and indexed Indian Agent letterbooks spanning 1849-1920.
