Dr. Asma Qadri is a distinguished scholar of Punjabi language, literature and culture, and currently works as a Research Associate with SASI, where she leads the Folk Heritage Research Project. At the University of Punjab in Lahore, she brings her expertise to the classroom as a Professor at the Institute of Punjabi and Cultural Studies, guiding students at the Master's and PhD levels.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Qadri has published more than twenty-five books and countless academic articles exploring Punjabi poetry, Sufi thought and the rich cultural traditions of South Asia. Her work shows us how the poetic and ethical teachings of the past continue to reflect and be informed by the lived experiences of our communities. Through her research, publications, and lectures delivered internationally, Dr. Qadri has established herself as a prominent voice in promoting interfaith dialogue and advancing the understanding of South Asian literary and cultural heritage.
