The Virtual Pacific Career Fair

The University of the Fraser Valley is proud to announce that we are collaborating with Douglas College, Capilano University, and Vancouver Community College to host a joint virtual career fair on March 2nd, 2023.

The Virtual Pacific Career Fair is open to students and alumni across all programs from the four post-secondary institutions. It is intended to enable organizations to fulfill their workforce recruitment needs by connecting them to candidates for current and upcoming job opportunities. During this event, students will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with employers of interest, gain awareness of organizations and positions they are hiring for and establish professional relationships.

Date: March 2, 2023 
Time: 10:30am–1:30pm PT
Where: Online through Hopin (a virtual platform that allows live conversations and video conferencing)
Student registration: Opens February 8, 2023 at Virtual Pacific Career Fair 2023 Event website (select Register Now under your university logo)

This session will help you get ready for the career fair by learning about the platform Hopin and getting tips on how to engage with employers.

Get the chance to hear from a panel of employers for virtual career fair tips regarding how to prepare for a career fair, how to engage with employers during the career fair, and next steps after a career fair. Learn what stands out to employers about prospective applicants at a career fair.

Other ways you can prepare for the career fair:

• Learn how to use the virtual platform by watching this video from Hopin.
• Book a career coaching appointment through CareerLink for a cover letter or resume review or mock interviews.
• Once you have registered for the Career Fair you'll be able to see the list of employers that will be in attendance (this list is subject to change and updates); research employers that you are interested in connecting with.
• Prepare questions to ask employers that you are interested in.
