Semester dates
Jan 2 University re-opens
Jan 2 Day ONE student orientation event (non-instructional day)
Jan 5 Classes begin in most programs (Program specific dates listed below)
Feb 16 Family Day — UFV closed
Feb 15 - 22 Reading week — No classes
Apr 3 Good Friday - No classes, UFV closed
Apr 6 Easter Monday - No classes, UFV closed
Apr 10 Classes end in most programs (Program specific dates listed below)
April 11 - 12

Study break - No classes 
April 13 - 23

Examination period (includes Saturdays).

Registration begins**

You cannot register or waitlist without meeting prerequisites.
You can register or waitlist if prerequisite courses are in progress at UFV. Unless otherwise stated, a minimum grade of C- is required for prerequisite courses.
Jan 11 Last day to register for courses using myUFV.
Jan 12 Instructor's permission required to register in a course.
Jan 7, noon Deadline to log in to online (asynchronous) courses. Online courses with meeting times (synchronous) should attend the first scheduled meeting time.
Jan 20 Fee payment deadline. Penalties apply if fees not paid in full.
Jan 21 $20 registration fee per course in effect. Pay full fees to add a course.
Feb 3 Last day to register to audit a course.
Feb 4 Dept. Head permission required to add a course.

Withdrawal Dates and Refund Schedule*
Dec 22
 Last day to drop a course and get 100% refund.
Dec 23 - Jan 4 5% of tuition withheld for any dropped courses or sections.
Jan 5 - Jan 20 10% of tuition withheld for any dropped courses or sections.
Jan 20 Last day to withdraw from a course and get a fee reduction or refund.
Jan 21 - Mar 3 No refunds for withdrawals, which can be done through myUFV 
Feb 3 Last day to withdraw without a W appearing on transcript.
Feb 4 Withdrawals get a W grade recorded on transcript.
Mar 3 Final day to withdraw from a course.¹
