An inter-school math competition in which students in grades 8 and 9 compete in teams of four or five. Regional competitions are held across BC each year in February, with the top teams from each regional tournament moving on to compete at the annual Provincial competition in March or April.
Provides interested students (and their teachers) with a chance to have fun and stretch themselves mathematically. The contest does not try to single out the very best of the province — there are other contests which do that. Instead, the contest is designed to get as many students as possible involved in doing and enjoying mathematics.
Try your hand at math problems curated by the UFV Math faculty.
Each year during spring break week, the UFV Department of Mathematics and Statistics hosts a Math Match, a competition between two teams to solve and present solutions to some math problems and puzzles.
The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition, hosted by the Mathematical Association of America, is an annual math contest written by undergraduate students across North America.
