Learn to leverage the value of graphics, document design and videos to boost the impact and clarity of PR communications. This course enables students to identify appropriate visual communication strategies and practices for campaigns and events. Students will use software like MS PowerPoint and Canva for projects.

(PR09) Copyright and Legal Issues

Examine the copyright and legal considerations affecting the design of a communication plan. Find out about protecting work and explore legal issues surrounding personal and organizational information, privacy, open source materials, print materials, images, videos, and social media in public relations practices.

(PR10) Building a Media Kit

Create materials for an effective media kit to build strong relationships with clients, news outlets, and business associates. In this week-long workshop, participants will write and present materials that promote professional representation.

(PR13) Public Relations Practicum

Cost: $828.00
Prerequisite: Successful completion of all PR courses and grade requirements or be enrolled in the remainder of required courses.

Participate in a supervised field-based immersive work experience to refine, integrate, and apply the knowledge acquired in the Public Relations certificate program. Learn more about practicum here.

Practicum is required for completion of the Public Relations certificate.

Program Coordinator permission is required to register.
