Because you don't need to take the courses in order, you can start this program at any time throughout the year.

Delivery formats

HRM courses are delivered in a variety of formats: online with scheduled meetings, in-person, and hybrid (a mix of the two). It is possible to complete the entire program online, although it may take more than one year as you may have to wait for certain courses to be offered online.

How to register

You do not have to apply for entrance to this program. Instead you can register and start taking courses right away, and then apply for graduation when you have finished all of the required core courses and your three chosen electives.

Registration deadlines

You can register for courses up until their start date, as long as there is space.

Employment Facts

WorkBC reports that in the past few years, employers have had difficulty filling both experienced human resources management professionals (HRM) and HRM generalist roles in BC and throughout Canada. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years.

You can work your way up in this profession without formal HRM education or a CPHR designation. However, these qualifications are becoming more in demand and most companies prefer both. Your level of business experience is also important. In addition, employers have an increasing interest in candidates with numeric and analytical skills.

Please be advised that while this program is an excellent way to get started in HR or deepen your professional experience, it does not lead to a CPHR designation. For students interested in a CPHR pathway, we recommend UFV's Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management.

Textbooks

This program does not require textbooks.
