Guidance for Meetings and Events at UFV
A meeting serves a UFV business or organizational purpose. It is held to make decisions, discuss tactics and strategies or review plans. The participants are all known to the organizer and are aware of, and adhere to, UFV health and safety protocols. An event serves an educational, entertainment, or external community purpose and are often intended for a broader group of participants, which may include members of the UFV community, external organizations, and the public.
In-person events:
Depending on the nature and scope of the event, additional planning, approvals, or support may be required. UFV employees organizing an in-person event may be required to submit an Event Application form to Safety and Security.
Before booking your event, please review Safety and Security's Event Support page for an overview of approval requirements and a step-by-step process to determine whether additional approvals are required.
Weekend access:
In some instances, other than scheduled classes, access on weekends will require an access request and approval from Security. For questions about room and building access, email safetysecurity@ufv.ca or phone 1-855-239-7654 (local 7654).
