Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee
The Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee is a joint committee of FSA and management representatives who are instrumental in the development, support, and maintenance of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures at UFV. The structure of this committee fosters a high level of cooperation between employees and managers when resolving occupational health and safety issues at UFV. Overall, the Occupational Health & Safety committee plays a valuable role in increasing employee participation and awareness in health and safety programs. Ultimately employees are encouraged to take responsibility for their own health and safety which is instrumental in improving the effectiveness of UFV’s health and safety programs thus promoting compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations.
