Winter 2026 Academic Registration Groups

Registration times are reassessed several times daily to assign new or adjusted times.

*If a person identified as a senior citizen (older adult) wish to waive their tuition-free eligibility to access an earlier registration time, they may contact the Office of the Registrar. Please refer to Older Adult Tuition Exemption for more information.

2025-2026 Continuing Education Registration

How can I provide students with permission to register?

Only faculty overrides can be selected and only courses for which you are the instructor on record are shown.

1. Log in to myUFV.
2. In Faculty Services, choose "Registration Overrides"
3. Select the term.
4. Enter the student ID number or First and Last name. Note: You cannot do a search for the student's ID.
5. Confirm the student.
6. From the "Overrides" screen, select the override that is appropriate:

When permission is added to the student record, the student is sent an email so they are aware they can proceed with registration in myUFV. Instructors will receive an email indicating registration updates.

Department Coordinators who are helping Faculty with entering waivers, please use the following instructions:

1. In Banner go to SFASRPO
2. Enter the appropriate student number in the ID field and term in the Term field; click Go
3. Enter the appropriate waiver code in the permit field and tab over entering the relevant course information; Save (F10)
4. If other permits already exist use the F6 key to enter a new line

Audit 

Students can register or change their registration to audit anytime between January 11 through February 3 for most winter semester courses, with instructor permission.

It is recommended that you and your student agree (preferably in writing) to the expectations for a successful auditing of the course. If they do not meet the expectations set, you will submit a grade of AN that will appear on the students transcript.

You will enter the Audit Registration Permission (see above for instructions) which will generate an email to the students email account. Students must register within three business days or the offer will expire.

How can I offer a student a seat in my course?

1. Courses with space
   • If there is space in a course students can register without permission until the published deadline.
   • Past the dates noted above for each session instructors offers seats by issuing Late registration permission (see above for instructions).
2. Courses with waitlist (regardless of whether space is available)
   • Waitlisted students are encouraged to attend the first class
   • Automated seat offers will continue through the first week of classes,  students will receive a notification to their UFV student email. If they do not register by the specified deadline, they will be removed from the waitlist.
   • After the first week of classes, faculty will be able to permit students to register from the waitlist if there are seats available.

Automated waitlist process 

OReg utilizes an automated process to offer seats to waitlisted students. Once a student has received a seat offer, they will have 24 hours to register for the course (48 hours prior to the first week of classes). Seats offers may be released periodically throughout the day. Students will be encouraged to drop a waitlisted courses if they no longer want/require it.

Absent on first day of class

Students are required to attend the first class of the term, or notify the instructor in advance if they are unable to attend.

Students who do not attend the first class, or log into an online class by the posted deadline, should be withdrawn by the instructor under the Attendance policy. At the end of the first class, the instructor can access a Notice of Withdrawal‌ form in Faculty myUFV (OReg - Faculty forms), and submits it to OReg by email to reginfo@ufv.ca.

Please submit this form to the Office of the Registrar within the first two weeks of the semester. Notice of Withdrawals will not be processed after fee payment deadline.

The attendance policy does not apply to students who drop out after the first class — these students must withdraw themselves. Students who are not withdrawn will require a grade at the end of the term.

Class change notification emails

When a student registers or withdraws from a course you are listed as the instructor for, you will recieve an automated email notification from IT.

Approximately one week after fee payment deadline you may receive a notification of withdrawal and reinstatement for the same student. This may be related to the student's responsiblity connected to their tuition and fees. Reinstatement in these situations do not require instructor permission until the following business week. Students are advised to connect with their instructor when reinstatement permission is required.
