Admissions Checklist

Applying to the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate program involves several steps. We've included a checklist below to help guide you through the application process.

 ECE Admissions Checklist 

  • Submit your application (opens Oct 1, deadline: Jan 31)
    Apply through EducationPlannerBC.
  • Meet academic entrance requirements (deadline: Jan 31)
    • Provide one of the following:
      • Proof of BC secondary school graduation or equivalent.
      • OR completion of at least 9 university-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.33.
    • Send interim or final official secondary and all post-secondary transcripts to UFV Admissions.
    • Review official transcript guidelines for details.
  • Provide evidence of prerequisite for CMNS 125 (deadline: Jan 31)
    • Submit interim or final transcripts showing completion or in-progress status.
    • Course details: CMNS 125.
  • Submit proof of suitability to work with young children (deadline: Jan 31)
    • Email the completed questionnaire and your resume.
    • Send documents to admissions@ufv.ca.
  • Send final official transcripts (when available)
    • If interim transcripts were submitted in January, send final official secondary and post-secondary transcripts once courses or programs are complete.
  • Check your application portal regularly
    • Track your application status and confirm all required documents have been received.
