Biography

Joy joined the School of Communication as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Joy's teaching and research focuses on technoculture and science communication. She studies the intersection of technology interface, user interaction, and cultural ideology to understand the unique ways diverse technology users approach and engage with new media technologies. She also explores how misinformation shapes cultural narratives, influences community dynamics, and affects decision making processes. Joy's teaching and research journey reflects a deep commitment to amplifying marginalized voices within community. 
 
A native of Abia, Nigeria, Joy draws upon her own cultural background to inform her work. She enjoys inspiring students to critically examine the intersection of culture, communication, and technology, encouraging them to question assumptions and explore the rich diversity of global perspectives.
