As you step forward into the next phase of your professional journey, you are equipped with a graduate degree that opens doors to leadership, growth, and advancement across BC’s education system.
Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) Category Upgrade
As a certified teacher in BC, you are eligible to apply for a TQS category upgrade upon completion of your MEd. A category upgrade can make a meaningful difference in both compensation and career mobility within the public education system.
To seek a change in category with the TQS, you must submit a formal application, original official transcripts documenting the MEd program, and verification of your employment in the BC public school system to the TQS office. See Category Upgrade for information.
Once your upgrade is processed and you have received your new TQS category card, submit it to your school district to ensure you are compensated correctly.
If you have questions about your TQS category upgrade application or card, contact the TQS.
See Graduation Documents and Transcripts for details on transcripts. For assistance, contact reginfo@ufv.ca.
For inquiries regarding verification of your employment or how to submit your TQS category card, reach out to your employer.
