Located in the beautiful Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university that enrolls approximately 15,000 students per year. UFV has campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope, and a growing presence in Chandigarh, India.
The Abbotsford campus is UFV's main campus, located in the third most diverse city in Canada. This campus features classroom and office spaces, a large library, a cafeteria, a non-smoking, four-floor residence with 102 double occupancy suites, a bookstore, a sports centre, and a new 50,000 square foot student centre that integrates student activities and campus life with key academic and administrative offices.
On 85 acres at the Canada Education Park in Chilliwack, UFV has a LEED Gold-certified facility, featuring a striking atrium, stunningly large classrooms, state-of-the-art science and computer labs, a fully equipped dental clinic, nursing stations, a library, a bookstore, a cafeteria, a black box theatre, a human performance lab that includes an EEG lab, environmental chamber, and teaching lab and an Indigenous Gathering Place.
UFV Aerospace Centre is ideally located at the Abbotsford Airport. The spacious and well-ventilated facility houses a few airplanes — including a 727 — to allow students in the Aircraft Structures Technician program to get hands-on experience. The Bicycle Technology program, run by bike legend, Paul Brodie, is also running at the Aerospace Centre.
UFV’s Agriculture Centre of Excellence is located on the Chilliwack campus at Canada Education Park. It features two polyethene greenhouses, a barn — including livestock area, milking area, poultry area, and swine area — and a greenhouse with a multi-wall polycarbonate construction that provides a strong thermal rating and high energy efficiency. The greenhouse is the tallest in North America (12m), which allows it to retain the CO2 rather than venting it as excess heat.
Located on the bottom floor of the Clearbrook Library, UFV's Clearbrook Centre houses Continuing Education and Applied Business Technology program. The facility also provides space for special events and seminars. It is located in Abbotsford's city core, close to Abbotsford City Hall, The Reach gallery, Abbotsford police headquarters, shopping and restaurants, and the Clearbrook library.
The UFV Hope Centre serves the local community by offering upgrading and continuing education courses, and providing student services, such as registration, fee payment, and computer support. Students can request library books, get their campus cards, and write exams for courses at UFV or other institutions. Rooms are also available for rental by community groups.
UFV's Mission campus at Heritage Park Centre lies on a hillside nestled among the southern coastal mountains and overlooks the Fraser River valley. On the Mission campus, students have access to upgrading, continuing studies courses, and many academic courses, including the Graphic & Digital Design program.
Located next door to the new UFV building at Canada Education Park, UFV's Trades and Technology Centre features shops and kitchens equipped with top of the line equipment to support programs that provide hands-on, job-focused technology and skill training.
Since 2006, UFV operates one-of-a-kind Canadian institution on Indian soil in the beautiful city of Chandigarh. UFV’s Chandigarh campus allows students to start their educational journey closer to home and to prepare to transition seamlessly to one of UFV’s Canadian campus to finish their degree.
