Call for proposals supporting coordinated quantum research and innovation across Canada.

NSERC Alliance Quantum grants NSERC 2023-10-31

- Applicants may now request up to $500,000 per year (previously $300,000) for a duration of up to five years. 

- Proposals may address any challenges in quantum science, but their thrust must aim to advance one or more of the NQS missions

Robbins-Ollivier Award for excellence in Equity -2023 Competition CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC 2023-11-07

Total of $100,000 granted over one year (with possibility of a one-year extension in time only.) Up to three awards per year.

NSERC Prizes - Science Promotion NSERC 2023-11-15

The NSERC Awards for Science Promotion recognize individuals and groups who are inspirational in the way they promote science to the general public.

This prize recognizes highly collaborative Canadian teams of researchers from different disciplines who have combined their expertise to produce achievements of outstanding significance in the natural sciences and engineering.

NSERC Prizes - Herzberg NSERC 2023-11-28

The Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering will be awarded to an individual whose body of work, conducted in Canada in the natural sciences or engineering, has demonstrated persistent excellence and influence.

NSERC Prizes - Polanyi NSERC 2023-11-28

The NSERC John C. Polanyi Award was created to recognize and support a university researcher or team of researchers whose work has led to a recent outstanding Canadian advance in a field of the natural sciences or engineering.

NSERC Prizes - Donna Strickland Prize for Societal Impact of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research NSERC 2023-11-28

NSERC recognizes that the entire research ecosystem is strengthened by equitable, diverse and inclusive access and participation. For this prize, the impact of the research within its field and the significance of the benefits to Canadian society (societal impact) are evaluated separately.

NSERC Alliance International Catalyst grants NSERC Ongoing Catalyst grants will provide funding for one year to support Canadian researchers in initiating international research collaborations in the NSE disciplines. External
SNSF Scientific Exchanges program SNSF Ongoing

Scientific Exchanges is aimed at researchers who want to host their own scientific event in Switzerland, invite colleagues from abroad for a research visit to Switzerland, or visit their colleagues in another country.

Tri-Council Funding for Post Doctoral Scholars NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR Ongoing Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers play a crucial role in Canada’s research ecosystem by pushing the frontiers of knowledge.  External
Genome Canada GAPP Ongoing Genome Canada has relaunched the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) and is actively accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI).
Amount: Up to 1/3 of the project budget with a max of $2 million.
NSERC Alliance International Grants NSERC Ongoing Amount: $25,000 (Catalyst grants) up to $100,000 (Collaboration grants) per year. Duration: 1 to 3 years. External

Health Research BC match funding Michael Smith Health Research BC Ongoing We provide match funding to qualifying BC-based researchers and research teams who are applying to non-BC government-funded research competitions that require applicants to source match funding as a condition of the application. SSHRC Explore Grants SSHRC 2023-09-05 SSHRC Explore Grants are made possible by block funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to UFV. Grants issued up to $7000 and must be spent within the fiscal year they are awarded. Please see link for more details. External
