Health Research BC match funding Michael Smith Health Research BC Ongoing We provide match funding to qualifying BC-based researchers and research teams who are applying to non-BC government-funded research competitions that require applicants to source match funding as a condition of the application. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Admissions  BCCAT 2022-04-22

The project will review admissions processes at BC Transfer System institutions and compare these processes with EDI principles, with the goal of providing recommendations for designing or revising admissions policies that incorporate EDI principles. 

Exploring Indigenous Ways of Knowing  BCCAT 2022-04-25

The project will use a review of literature and of institutional websites, as well as interviews with Indigenous post-secondary organizations to explore how Indigenous approaches to research could inform BCCAT's approach to research.

Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund UFV 2022-04-30

Catalyst Grant : CPHO’s Report 2021: Future of Public Health CIHR 2022-05-04

Transforming Public Health: Supporting research on priorities outlined in Canada’s 2021 Chief Public Health Officer report

Canada Biomedical Research Fund and Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund CBRF 2022-05-19

Amount: $500,000 per year

International Policy Ideas Challenge SSHRC 2022-05-20

For graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career researchers, the challenge provides each of the top six winning entries with an award to develop and transform their ideas into policy briefs.
Amount: $3,000 per award.

BC Climate Agri-Solutions BCCAF 2022-06

Helping farmers tackle climate change by adopting beneficial management practices: Application intake in June and September. 
Amount: Up to $30,000 of cost-shared funding.

Call for Concept Notes: Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) IDRC 2022-06-07

This call for concept notes seeks to identify transdisciplinary teams motivated to conduct action-oriented research related to one or more of CLARE’s three research themes.
Amount: $1.5 up to $8 million.

Team Grant : Indigenous Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative Cohort Research Study (I-HeLTI) CIHR 2022-06-08

NCDs such as diabetes/obesity and conditions related to mental wellness are also a priority issue for Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
Amount: Up to $12,000,000.

Amount: $50,000 to $100,000 per year, up to five years

Mental Health in the Early Years Implementation Science Team Grants CIHR/IIPH/

Research that enhances our understanding of how to improve the systematic and equitable implementation of evidence-based interventions for young children and their caregivers.
Launch is March 2022
Amount: Up to $1,250,000.

Connection Grants SSHRC 2022-08-01

Connection Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Connection program. These grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. 
Amount: Events - $7,000 to $25,000.

SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships SSHRC 2022-09-15

SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships are expected to respond to the objectives of the Talent program. These fellowships support the most promising Canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities, and assist them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers.  
Amount: $45,000 per year.


Canada Excellence Research Chairs 2022 competition


The program offers eligible Canadian, degree-granting institutions an opportunity to establish highly funded research chairs in the Government of Canada’s ST&I priorities for the CERC and CFREF programs.

New Frontiers in Research Fund: 2022 Transformation competition NFRF 2022-09-20

The objective of the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) Transformation stream is to support large-scale, Canadian-led interdisciplinary research projects that address a major challenge with the potential to realize real and lasting change.   
Amount: $2,000,000 to $4,000,000 per year.

SSHRC Explore Grants UFV 2022-10-11

Explore grants are to support small-scale Social Science and Humanities research projects for researchers at any stage in their careers. Funds are provided by SSHRC and adjudicated/distributed by UFV.
Amount: Up to $7,000.
