Compensation

The University of the Fraser Valley is committed to providing fair and equitable pay to all employees. Our compensation program is designed to maintain wage levels that are competitive within the higher education market and consistent with job responsibilities and requirements.

For faculty and staff members, salary scales are determined through the collective bargaining process between UFV and the Faculty & Staff Association: 


How do I get a copy of my contract?

Human Resources prepares the contract, notifies the payroll office to pay you according to the terms of your contract, and sends you the contract letter.

When do I get paid?

At UFV there are 24 pay periods per year with paydays being on the 15th and the last day of each month. If the 15th or last day of the month falls on a weekend, the payday will be the Friday before the respective weekend. For additional information, consult the payroll website.

I am an hourly employee — how do I submit a timesheet?

If your contract requires you to submit timesheets, please complete timesheets for your hours worked. Timesheets are to be submitted to payroll according to the payroll schedule. See payroll forms and schedules on the Finance website.

Note: If you were a previous UFV student, your employee ID number is the same as your UFV student number.

Does UFV have direct deposit?

Yes. To sign up for direct deposit, download the following forms from the Financial Services website and stop by the Payroll Division (Abbotsford campus, building A, office A291) to drop them off:

  • Employee Direct Deposit
  • TD1 form – Federal (Canada)
  • TD1BC form – Provincial (B.C.)

Are my pay stubs and T4s available online?

myUFV is an online portal to view and update your information such as:

  • Payroll information
  • T4/tax information
  • Expense claim pay
  • Benefits
  • Parking pass application

I think my pay is incorrect, who should I contact?
